I don't have 5 years inside an agency. What I have is 10+ years building and running operational systems at scale across three very different environments — 5 years of account management across SaaS companies, 8 years running a complex multi-location in-person business end-to-end, and then going into a multi-seven-figure AI consultancy as Employee #1 in a head of professional services role where I built 100% of the operational structure from scratch. The agency-specific context I'm missing; the operational muscle is there.
I didn't work at a performance marketing agency. But I spent 8 years as the client — building out GoHighLevel across multiple locations, building and iterating on websites, and hiring and managing multiple marketing agencies along the way. I know what good performance marketing deliverables look like because I've evaluated them under real budget pressure and held agencies accountable for results. That's a different vantage point than working inside one, but it's not a blind spot.
I haven't built in ClickUp, but I've built PM and CRM systems from scratch in two other tools. I designed and ran Monday.com as the full project management system for 8 years of multi-location operations. Then I came to Automation Helpers and built our entire CRM and project management infrastructure in SmartSuite. I learn new systems fast because I understand what the system needs to do — the tool is just the interface.
